Incredibly passive, Briony tends to keep a calm and composed demeanor and generally has a hard time expressing much emotion, though she is trying. This often gives her a cold, elegant, and slightly intimidating presence, and while not entirely inaccurate, she really is not intimidating at all.

Not much of a conversationalist, she rarely initiates conversations unless she's highly curious of something. If only mildly interested into something, she takes the time to observe others and gets her knowledge of human interaction from years of watching her family, the student body, and reading many, many books. She is always polite and graceful, ever mindful of etiquette and her manners, very mature in her decisions, but a bit clumsy in very simple tasks such as conversing or anything that requires her to speak and display emotion.

She is very gentle, especially among those younger than her and with animals of any kind. She rarely becomes childish unless given sweets and the chance to interact with animals. While very innocent, Briony isn't completely naive. She is a Slytherin, and while never purposefully manipulative in ever a negative way, she's familiar with using subtle persuasion to make means lean in her favor, and she's very capable of lying if need be. Always a plus that she's super skilled in keeping a straight face.

b i o g r a p h y

Of a mixed background, her mother from a long line of pureblooded Chinese who had settled in France long ago, and her father from well-off Irish pureblood family, Briony grew up in a very diverse household which was always bustling with activity. She was born two years after her brother Brian, and when she was four years old, her parents adopted their cousin Elise after a tragic accident regarding her parents and an Auror mission gone awry.

While her parents had been busy at work and Elise and Brian had been off at school, her parents had given her her first pet at age 9, a small Alaskan Klee Kai, whom she still holds dear to her. As the years went on, Briony adopted many other strays and wild animals who frequented their home, and her affinity for animals grew, them becoming her only outlet for emotions.

They lived in France, and when Brian had been of age, he attended Beauxbatons. Before Briony had been able to attend school, Brian decided, after two years at Beauxbatons, that he preferred to go to Hogwarts like Elise had. Briony attended Beauxbatons up until the end of her fourth year where she learned manners and etiquette, grace and elegance. The virtues that Beauxbatons valued remain deeply rooted in Briony, though fortunately, she was never exposed to the rather harsh gossiping community that ran strong in the school, most probably due to her lack of communication with others.

Her family later moved to England, into Elise's old home, in the summer prior to her fifth year and transferred Briony to Hogwarts where she was sorted into Slytherin house. As a parting gift, her parents gave her her most recent pet, Willem, a black and white kitten with a diva persona. Briony quietly made her way through fifth year, getting used to the drastic difference between the atmosphere in Hogwarts and Beauxbatons.

As Briony went into her sixth year, she was aware of the tentative situations in the school and worried for her kitten's safety, she decided to keep him at home. While she hadn't been very active in the school community during fifth year, her first year at Hogwarts, she had heard of all the rather traumatizing events and was rather frightened. Returning with a less naive mindset, she was back to tough out a new year.

After a rather frightening experience when professors Knightley and Darcy both turned on the school before being restrained by aurors after attacking students, Briony returned home for the summer with a very changed mind. After spending a warm yet tentative summer with her family, she returns to Hogwarts for her final year, cat in tow, now cognizant of the dangers that could possibly lie ahead. While some friends have graduated, Briony’s set to make the best of this last year on her own, and hopefully make a few lasting friendships along the way.
